Durham

Durham

Durham holds balance through material. Wool and bamboo silk are hand-knotted into the same surface, two fibres that behave differently under the knot and never quite agree. Wool resists compression and holds density. Bamboo silk gives under pressure and cools the hand. Neither dominates. The weaver works with restraint, letting both sit flush in a surface carrying a soft, diffused sheen where bamboo meets wool's matte body. Durham suits interiors that live between registers, neither purely minimal nor traditionally warm. Against pale oak or stone, with linen and cotton furniture, the rug sits underneath without choosing a side, composed and quietly tactile.
