Description

Horizontal ivory lines move across a charcoal-grey wool ground, breaking and resuming at irregular intervals. The bamboo silk reads through those gaps, lending a faint coolness to an otherwise dense surface. No border frames the field. The pattern reads as rhythm rather than ornament, controlled and flat at a distance, textured up close.

Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Wool provides the structural durability. Bamboo silk is more surface-facing and benefits from moderate rather than heavy foot traffic. Rotating the rug every 12 months distributes wear and keeps the surface reading evenly across the field.

Does bamboo silk shed or require special care compared to wool?
