Athens works with surfaces that look lived with rather than made. Wool and silk are hand-knotted into softened motifs, then finished with a distressed, abrash character that shifts tone across the field. Nothing here reads as new. The patterns appear worn smooth by passage, the colours faded into one another the way old thresholds wear down underfoot. Silk catches light sideways while wool holds the body of the pile. The result settles into a room rather than decorating it. Athens belongs in spaces built on use, where presence matters more than polish and the floor carries its own quiet age.
