Deep navy and bright cobalt-blue press in from the perimeter, surrounding a central mass of crimson-red, warm walnut-brown, pale cream, and dusty grey that occupies the heart of the field. The centre carries its own internal density: six colours working against each other in a tightly compressed zone with no single one taking full control.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

How does the centrally focused composition work under a seating arrangement with a coffee table over the centre?

The central colour mass reads most fully from a standing position or when the furniture is arranged around rather than over it. A glass or low-profile coffee table allows the centre to remain visible. The 10x14 gives the most room for a full U-shaped seating arrangement that frames the central zone without covering it.

With navy at the perimeter and multiple warm colours at the centre, does the rug work in a room with both cool and warm materials?

Yes, and this is where it performs best. The navy perimeter connects with steel, slate, and cool linen; the red and brown centre connects with walnut, leather, and warm plaster.
