Description

White orbs of varying scale float across a pale mint-silver ground, clustering densely in the upper field and thinning toward the centre. Thin branching lines in silver-white trace through the composition, cutting across the orb clusters without following them. Moss-olive and teal-blue surface in the surrounding ground, keeping the colour field from reading as purely cool.

A note on the dye

Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Bring the room into the rug - never the other way around.

A rug is sized to read once, in full, as you walk past it. The longer sizes tell a different story across a whole room.

Asked & answered

Questions you'd want to ask.

Plain answers about the wool, the loom, and what the rug does over years of use.

Spore · the asked & answered
Do the raised white orb forms in the hi-low construction flatten over time under furniture?

The orb forms sit within the pile structure itself rather than being surface-applied, so they are inherently more resilient than surface treatments. Using furniture pads under heavy legs distributes weight and prevents localized compression. Rotating the rug annually keeps wear consistent across the full field.

How does the mint-silver palette work in a room with warm wood tones and neutral upholstery?

The cool mint-silver ground reads as a clear contrast against warm wood floors, visually separating the rug from the surface beneath it. Neutral linen or stone-grey upholstery lets the rug's colour register without competition. The 9x12 suits standard living room arrangements; the 10x14 works well in rooms with larger furniture groupings.

Is the pile dense enough to feel substantial underfoot despite the medium height?

Yes. Wool and silk combined at medium pile height produces a surface that feels dense and close-knit rather than plush. The knotting density in hand-knotted construction ensures the pile body is firm and consistent underfoot, without the softness that can make a deeper pile feel less stable under furniture.
