Description

A deep rust-red ground carries a continuous scrolling vine field of olive-gold florals, ivory flower heads, and small cobalt blue accents. A wide ink-blue border filled with ivory palmettes and gold arabesques frames the field on all sides. The pile reads dense and close-cropped, with the red ground showing strong, saturated depth throughout.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

How does a densely patterned all-wool rug perform under heavy furniture over years of use?

Wool fiber compresses under furniture legs but recovers with time and rotation. Hand-knotted construction holds each knot independently, so compression stays localized and does not affect the surrounding pile. Rotating every 12 months distributes wear evenly across the surface.

The rust and blue are both strong colors. How do I size this rug so it anchors rather than overwhelms a room?

In a living room, a 9x12 allows enough floor to show around the edges, keeping the rug grounded. A 10x14 suits larger rooms where the full furniture group sits on the surface. For a dining room, measure so the rug extends at least 24 inches beyond the table on all sides.

The pile looks very dense in close-up. Will this rug shed noticeably in the first months?

Dense wool pile does release loose fibers during the settling period, typically the first two to four months. Vacuum on low suction without a beater bar to manage this. Shedding stops once the pile compacts, and the surface becomes stable with regular use.
