Description

Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Wool pile in a hand-knotted construction recovers well from compression. The open field does make any directional pile shift more visible, so rotating the rug every 12 months keeps wear consistent and the surface reading evenly.

Which furniture arrangements suit this rug best, and what size works for a large living room?

The vertical field composition works well with furniture arranged along the length of the rug. A 10x14 accommodates a full seating group with all legs on the surface; a 9x12 suits a tighter arrangement with front legs only. Runners are also available for hallways.
