Description

A deep brick-red field carries a large Heriz-style medallion built from a near-black star center ringed by a pale teal surround, with ivory and warm gold quarter-spandrels extending to the corners. The field between center and border holds botanical scatter forms in teal, forest green, ivory, and dusty pink. The near-black border carries a dense secondary repeat in pale rose and sage.

A note on the dye

Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Asked & answered

Questions you'd want to ask.

Plain answers about the wool, the loom, and what the rug does over years of use.

Torque · the asked & answered
How does a brick-red wool field hold its color against foot traffic over time?

Wool accepts dye at fiber depth, so surface abrasion from regular foot traffic does not expose a lighter underlayer. The hand-knotted construction secures each knot individually, meaning the pile wears evenly rather than developing patches. Deep-dyed brick-red grounds remain consistent in color with annual professional cleaning.

What furniture tone and room style suits this color combination best?

The brick-red and near-black combination reads well against neutral upholstery, natural wood furniture, and plaster or limewash walls. The teal accent in the medallion and spandrels picks up cooler tones in the room without requiring them. Available in 8x10, 9x12, and 10x14 to suit most living room and drawing room configurations.

Does the medium pile on this rug suit placement under a dining table with regular chair use?

Medium wool pile handles chair movement well and recovers from compression without leaving permanent marks. Placing felt pads under table and chair legs reduces direct pressure on the pile and protects both the rug and the floor beneath it over long-term use.
