A deep walnut-brown ground absorbs a dense all-over geometric lattice traced in ivory and sage green, its interlocking compartments seeded with florets in dusty coral, steel blue, amber, and brick red. Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Will the dark brown ground show dirt or wear more visibly over time?

Deep-ground wool rugs absorb surface dust into the pile rather than displaying it on a pale field. Regular low-suction vacuuming keeps the surface clear. Wear patterns, if any, develop gradually and evenly across a hand-knotted construction of this density.

How does this rug sit in a room with existing dark wood furniture or paneling?

The walnut-brown ground reads as a continuation of warm wood tones rather than competing with them. The ivory lattice and coral and blue fills provide enough contrast to keep the pattern distinct without disrupting the tonal relationship between rug and furniture.
