Description

Burnt sienna and terracotta run horizontally across the full surface, broken at intervals by threads of deep indigo and dark charcoal. No pattern organises the colour; the variation comes from the yarn itself, each row of knots carrying a slightly different mix of rust, ochre, and muted coral. The matte wool pile reads as a single warm field from a distance.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Will the colour variation across this rug change or fade with regular use?

The tonal shifts in this rug come from the yarn composition, not from surface treatment. Wool holds dye at the fibre level, so the variation between rust, terracotta, and indigo threads remains stable over time. Regular rotation distributes foot traffic evenly and prevents any one zone from wearing differently.
