Description

A pale celadon-aqua ground carries a layered geometric field: stepped medallion forms at center, angular border motifs running on all four sides, and subsidiary tribal-inflected figures distributed across the field in warm taupe-brown. The motifs sit close in value to the ground, keeping the geometry legible without sharpening into contrast.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

How does an all-wool construction perform under furniture in a living room over several years?

Wool recovers well from compression, particularly at medium-low pile heights. Moving furniture occasionally and rotating the rug every 12 months prevents permanent flattening in high-load zones. Hand-knotted wool construction holds its structure for decades under normal residential use.

How should this rug be sized relative to a sofa and seating arrangement?

At 8x10, front legs of a sofa and two chairs sit comfortably on the rug. The 9x12 and 10x14 sizes suit larger arrangements where all furniture legs rest fully on the surface. The geometric border reads best when at least 12 inches remain visible beyond the furniture edge on all sides.

Does wool in a soft finish shed, and how long does shedding last?

Some fiber release is normal in the first few months of use, particularly with soft-finish wool. Vacuum on low suction without a beater bar. Shedding decreases substantially within three to six months. It does not indicate poor construction quality and does not affect the long-term durability of the rug.
