Hadley is built on repetition applied with understanding. Hand-knotted entirely in wool, the collection works with traditional motifs the weaver knows before beginning, learned through return rather than for the occasion. The hand follows a path worn smooth by making the same thing many times, and that familiarity shows in the finished surface in ways that cannot be manufactured. The motifs hold their form without stiffness, settled into the proportion that comes from practice. The pile is close and matte. Hadley belongs in rooms that are used, a dining room with regular meals, a drawing room sat in daily, a floor that carries real movement and holds its form within that life.
