Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

How does the submerged lattice pattern hold its definition over time with regular use?

The diamond structure is built into the knot sequence itself, not applied to the surface. At low pile height and high knot density, the pattern remains readable through years of normal use. Consistent low-suction vacuuming keeps the pile upright and the definition between colour zones clear.

What size and placement works best for a large open-plan living room?

The 10x14 handles a full seating arrangement in an open-plan space, keeping all major furniture within the rug's perimeter. The 9x12 suits a more contained seating group. The cool pale ground reads well against polished concrete and pale stone floors, where the surface provides colour without competing with the floor material beneath it.
