Description

Deep slate-blue and near-charcoal dominate the field, with vertical striations of off-white and warm sand-camel cutting through the surface in loose, erosion-like bands. The two tones do not sit in zones; they interpenetrate across the full field. Silk threads rise within the darker charcoal areas, sharpening the contrast against the wool-held camel passages beneath.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

How does the wool and silk combination perform across the full field of this rug under daily use?

Wool handles regular use reliably throughout the field. Silk, concentrated in the darker charcoal and slate-blue areas, sits at a higher pile elevation and is more sensitive to abrasion. Daily foot traffic across the full surface is manageable; targeted high-traffic paths over the silk-heavy zones will show wear faster than the wool-dominant camel passages.

Which size works best for a large seating arrangement, and how should the rug be oriented?

The 10x14 suits generous living rooms where the full surface can be seen from a seated position. The vertical striations in the design read most naturally when oriented along the length of the primary seating piece. The 9x12 works well for standard rooms, with all front furniture legs sitting on the rug.
