Description

Deep ink-blue and steel-grey masses move across a pale silver ground, dissolving at their edges into dragged white striations that run vertically through the field. The pattern carries no fixed geometry. Dense navy pools thin into mid-blue wash, then break entirely into the bare ground. The hi-low construction gives the dissolved passages a lower, quieter register against the heavier blue bodies.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Will the wool and silk construction maintain its surface quality under a sectional sofa with regular use?

Wool handles compression well and recovers with time. Silk within the pile adds sheen but does not bear the primary structural load, so the rug performs reliably under furniture. Rotating annually prevents permanent compression in high-contact zones.

Which room sizes and furniture arrangements suit this rug best?

The 9x12 works well beneath a large sectional with front legs on the rug. The 10x14 suits open-plan living and dining combinations. Given the expansive field pattern, larger sizes let the design read fully without the motif feeling cropped.

Does the silk content require any special care beyond standard vacuuming?
