Description

Irregular stone-shaped forms scatter across a cool silver-grey ground, each fragment filled with dense espresso brown that breaks into speckled dissolution at the edges. Pale champagne and washed steel-blue surface across select forms, interrupting the dark field. The hi-low construction pulls the fragments forward while the ground recedes.

Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Wool provides the structural durability and handles foot traffic well. Silk adds surface sheen but sits within the pile rather than dominating it, reducing abrasion risk. Rotating the rug annually distributes wear evenly across the field.

What size works best for a living room with a standard sofa and two accent chairs?

The 9x12 anchors a full seating arrangement with all front legs on the rug. For larger rooms with sectionals or generous furniture groupings, the 10x14 provides better visual weight and proportion.

Does a wool-silk rug shed, and how should it be maintained in the first few months?

Some light shedding from the wool content is normal in the first weeks of use. Vacuum on low suction without a beater bar. Avoid rubbing spills; blot immediately. Shedding reduces significantly with regular, gentle vacuuming.
