The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Bold, clearly outlined motifs in hand-knotted wool actually hold their definition well over time. The larger knot areas within each form wear evenly, and the contrast between ground and motif color remains legible through years of regular use.

This rug has an unusually strong color palette. How do I use it effectively in a living room without the other furnishings competing with it?

The charcoal ground acts as a natural anchor. Furniture in neutrals, natural linen, worn leather, or undyed wood reads cleanly alongside it. Keeping walls and large upholstery quiet lets the rug carry the color in the room. A 9x12 or 10x14 both work well for a full seating arrangement.

Will the purple and blue tones fade with exposure over time?
