Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

How does the wool and silk combination wear over time in a high-traffic living room?

Wool forms the structural base and handles foot traffic well. Silk sits in the raised sections and sees less direct compression. With regular low-suction vacuuming and annual professional cleaning, the surface distinction between the two fibers holds for many years.

What size works best for a large living room with a sectional sofa?

For a sectional in a large living or drawing room, the 9x12 or 10x14 works best. Front legs of all seating should sit on the rug, leaving the abstract field visible at the center beneath the coffee table.

Does the silk pile in this rug shed or flatten with regular use?
