Description

A pale silver-beige ground carries fine ink-black lines: angular rooftop shapes, long arcing curves, rectangular outlines, and isolated horizontal bars. Small warm straw-yellow passages sit within the drawn zones. The silk-raised ground keeps the marks low and precise, while the open field remains expansive and largely uninterrupted between the scattered elements.

A note on the dye

Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

On scale

Bring the room into the rug - never the other way around.

A rug is sized to read once, in full, as you walk past it. The longer sizes tell a different story across a whole room.

Asked & answered

Questions you'd want to ask.

Plain answers about the wool, the loom, and what the rug does over years of use.

Groundline · the asked & answered
How does the fine line detail hold up under regular foot traffic over time?

The drawn lines are knotted at the lower wool pile plane, which is dense and resistant to compression. Under regular living room use, the detail remains readable over years. Rotating the rug every 12 months distributes wear evenly and prevents any single zone from flattening faster than the rest.

This rug has a lot of open ground. Does the pale field show soiling easily?

Pale silver-beige wool does show dry dust and fine debris more visibly than darker grounds. Regular vacuuming on low suction keeps the surface clean. The wool and silk construction does not attract pet hair or lint the way synthetic fibres can. For spills, blot immediately with a dry cloth.

What size works best for a minimalist room with low, floor-level furniture?

The 10x14 suits large open rooms where the rug anchors the space from a distance. The 9x12 works well for more contained arrangements. For floor-level or low-profile furniture, all legs sitting fully on the rug creates the cleanest visual line and lets the open field read without interruption.
