Description

Warm parchment and raw sand dominate the ground, with cool ash-grey and soft slate blocks distributed across the surface without hierarchy. The blocks vary in scale and placement, never repeating at fixed intervals. Blended fibres give each zone a slightly different texture, the pale ground reading differently under each grey field it borders.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

How does the blended fibre construction age with regular foot traffic?

Blended fibres in a hand-knotted structure tend to settle rather than deteriorate. The variation between fibre types distributes pressure unevenly across the pile, which slows concentrated wear. The surface develops character gradually without losing structural integrity.

What room sizes and furniture arrangements suit this rug best?

The 9x12 works well under a full seating group, with all front legs on the surface. The 10x14 suits larger living or dining spaces where chairs need room to pull back. The pale ground reads well in rooms with natural wood flooring and lighter wall tones.
