Description

Deep ink-navy fills the field, packed with geometric tribal medallions, stepped diamonds, and angular florals in warm sand, dusty rose, teal-grey, and brick red. The border shifts to deep oxide-rust, carrying its own procession of angular forms and stylized animals. Pile reads medium, dense and tightly packed throughout.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Does a dark navy field show lint and light debris more visibly than a pale ground?

Dark grounds show light-colored debris such as dust and pet hair more readily than mid-toned fields. Regular vacuuming on low suction without a beater bar keeps the surface clear. Wool's natural texture also means debris sits on top of the pile rather than embedding quickly, making it straightforward to remove.

How does this rug's dense geometric field work with furniture placement?

The all-over pattern reads equally well from any point in the room, so furniture placement is flexible. The 9x12 suits a full sofa and two chairs with front legs on the rug. The 10x14 gives more clearance and works well in open-plan rooms where the rug needs to anchor a larger zone.

Is hand-knotted wool suitable for a dining room with regular chair movement?

Yes. Hand-knotted construction gives the pile structural integrity that machine-made rugs lack. Individual knots tied into the foundation mean the rug holds up under repeated chair movement. Using felt pads under chair legs reduces abrasion further. Rotating the rug every twelve months distributes wear evenly.
