Description

Concentric diamond forms tile the field in a repeating geometric pattern, each one built from fine horizontal striations in warm camel-brown, powder-blue, off-white, and mid-grey wool. Cobalt-blue silk traces the diamond boundaries at a higher pile, making the geometry physically raised rather than simply drawn. The surface reads as structured from a distance and deeply textured up close.

A note on the dye

Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Bring the room into the rug - never the other way around.

A rug is sized to read once, in full, as you walk past it. The longer sizes tell a different story across a whole room.

Asked & answered

Questions you'd want to ask.

Plain answers about the wool, the loom, and what the rug does over years of use.

Facet · the asked & answered
The silk traces the geometric lines. Does this make those areas more vulnerable to wear than the wool-filled zones?

Silk at the raised pile along the diamond edges is more surface-exposed than the wool-filled interior zones. In moderate-use living rooms this holds well. Avoid dragging heavy furniture across the surface, and use furniture coasters under legs that sit directly on the silk-outlined edges.

Does the repeating geometric pattern work in smaller rooms or does it need a large space to read properly?

The concentric diamond repeat reads clearly even in smaller configurations. The 8x10 works well in a mid-sized living room where one full repeat is visible within the seating arrangement. Larger sizes like 10x14 show more repeats and give the geometric rhythm more room to develop across the field.

How do the camel and blue tones hold up together under regular vacuuming without one color affecting the other?

Wool and silk both hold dye independently; pigments do not transfer between them during vacuuming or normal use. Low-suction vacuuming in the direction of the pile keeps both the camel wool and cobalt silk passages clean without disturbing the hi-low structure.
