Description

A field of interlocking diamond forms dissolves across a natural ivory ground, the charcoal outlines breaking and reforming rather than holding a clean edge. The surface reads as textured from a distance, nearly woven-in-noise up close. Wool pile sits at medium density, flat and matte, with no border interrupting the field. Made in India

A note on the dye

Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

On scale

Bring the room into the rug - never the other way around.

A rug is sized to read once, in full, as you walk past it. The longer sizes tell a different story across a whole room.

Asked & answered

Questions you'd want to ask.

Plain answers about the wool, the loom, and what the rug does over years of use.

Dissolve · the asked & answered
How does an all-wool hand-knotted rug hold up in a frequently used living room?

Wool is naturally resilient and recovers well from compression under furniture. Hand-knotted construction means individual knots bear load independently, so the pile maintains its structure over years of regular foot traffic without matting permanently.

What size works best for a standard living room seating arrangement?

An 8x10 fits well when front legs of seating rest on the rug. For a larger room where all furniture legs sit on the surface, a 9x12 or 10x14 provides the floor coverage needed to anchor the full arrangement.

Does this wool rug shed, and how should I manage it initially?

Some shedding is normal in the first few weeks of use as loose fiber from the knotting process works free. Vacuum on low suction without a beater bar. Shedding reduces significantly after the first month of regular vacuuming.
