Description

An off-white natural field carries a design of irregular curved lines that cross and divide the surface into large, softly bounded zones, each sitting at a slightly different pile height. The close-up reveals the lines as deep narrow channels cut through dense high pile, the zones on either side reading as tonal planes rather than pattern elements. No border, no repeat.

Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Do the deep carved channels in this rug trap debris, and how should I clean them?

The narrow carved channels do collect fine debris more readily than a flat surface. Vacuuming on low suction across the full surface addresses most accumulation. For debris sitting within the channels specifically, a soft brush attachment on low suction clears them without disturbing the surrounding high pile. Annual professional cleaning maintains the channel definition fully.
