Description

Celadon green, dusty blush, pale teal, and warm brown scatter across a mid-grey wool ground, divided by near-black lines into large irregular cells. The cells do not hold clean color. Each one carries its tones in broken, fragmented clusters, so the surface reads as eroded rather than painted. Silk lifts the cooler passages above the wool at varying heights.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Wool handles the structural demands of daily foot traffic and resists compression well over time. Silk sits at the higher pile and contributes surface character rather than durability. In living rooms with moderate use, the construction performs reliably with proper rotation every 12 months.

What size works best for a large open-plan living space with industrial finishes?

The 10x14 anchors a full seating group in a generous room and allows the large-cell design to read completely from a seated position. The 9x12 suits slightly smaller arrangements where front furniture legs sit on the surface.

The surface looks textured in the close-up. Does it feel rough underfoot?
