Description

Soft powder-blue fills the field, carrying an all-over scatter of geometric medallions, stylized animal figures, stepped diamonds, and angular florals in warm peach-sand, dark brown, terracotta, and deep charcoal. The border steps to a deeper teal ground with a terracotta-peach wave pattern and finer angular repeat. Pile reads medium, full and dense throughout.

Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

How does a scattered all-over pattern with many small motifs hold its definition at pile level over time?

Hand-knotted construction secures each knot individually into the foundation, so fine details within small motifs hold their edges as the rug ages. The medium pile keeps the surface close enough that individual forms remain distinct. Regular vacuuming on low suction removes surface fiber and debris that can obscure finer detailing in a dense pattern field.

Does the pale blue field require special care compared to mid or dark grounds?

Powder-blue grounds sit in a mid-range that shows general dust more readily than dark grounds but less than ivory. Regular vacuuming every one to two weeks keeps the surface clear. Wool's natural lanolin provides some resistance to soiling. Professional cleaning once a year prevents accumulated grime from shifting the field tone over time.

What size works best for a large living room where the rug anchors a curved or irregular sofa arrangement?

The 10x14 provides enough surface area to accommodate non-rectangular furniture arrangements, including curved sofas, while keeping all front legs on the rug.
