Description

A large curved arc in warm sand-beige sweeps through the left and lower field, partially enclosing a central zone of pale antique-white scattered with bright white stipple. Charcoal-graphite horizontal marks sit in the upper field, dense and deliberate against the open beige ground. Muted jade-teal and terracotta-rust appear as small, isolated passages throughout, low in saturation against the dominant warm ground.

A note on the dye

Madder root, soaked five days, simmered three.

The red you see in the field is not one red. It is seven dye lots, each pulled at a slightly different hour from the same copper vat,the variation lives only in the wool, never in the recipe.

Does the large curved arc remain visible when the rug is placed under a full seating arrangement?

The arc moves through the lower and left portions of the field, so a sofa placed along the upper edge covers the charcoal marks while leaving the arc's curve and the open antique-white interior visible from most seating positions. The 9x12 and 10x14 both allow the arc's trajectory to read clearly beyond the furniture footprint.

How does the antique-white and sand-beige palette work in a room with warm terracotta upholstery and green-toned walls?

The sand-beige ground connects directly with terracotta velvet and warm wood, as the lifestyle image demonstrates.
