Bring a sketch. We will weave it.

Five thousand archive designs to choose from, or a blank loom. The studio will translate your reference — a photograph, a memory, a painting — into a hand-knotted rug, proportioned and dyed to your room.

No. 03 — The Studio · Bespoke

The path from a scrap of paper to a finished rug.

A bespoke rug is a conversation kept slowly, over months. Three steps, three sets of hands. You write the brief, the studio writes the recipe, the weavers write the rest.

step i · the brief studio · a sketch on the table
Step One — The Brief i

You design.

Choose from five thousand archive patterns, or send us your own — a sketch on hotel stationery, a photograph of your grandmother's floor, a swatch of fabric, a painting you can't stop thinking about. We translate the reference into a working cartoon for the loom.

step ii · the fibre studio · hand-spun wool, vegetable-dyed
Step Two — The Material ii

We source.

Pick the fibre that fits the room — hand-spun wool, wool on a bamboo-silk weft, mulberry silk for the rare commission. Every fibre is traced back to the village it came from. Vegetable-dyed in small batches by a third-generation dyer in Sanganer, Rajasthan.

Step Three — The Loom iii

They weave.

Between four and fourteen months on a single loom in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh — always the same family of weavers. We send progress letters from the studio: the colour as it comes off the dyer's vat, the first inch of pile, the day the rug is finally cut from the loom.

No. 04 — Begin a Rug

Customize your own rug.

Fill in your details and a member of the studio will write back within two working days, often the same. There is no obligation — many conversations begin years before a loom is set.

No. 05 — Tell us about your rug

A few notes to the loom.

Enough to begin the conversation. We'll write back to gather sketches, dimensions, and references.
